Graze Box #4

My last Graze Box post! This is box no. 4 out of the 4 boxes I got for £5 from Groupon!

In this box I received:

Fruity Ploughman's (poppy seed flat-bread and apple and pear chutney)
I was hoping this one would be really good but it wasn't all that special! The flat-bread was nice but I didn't really like the chutney! 5/10

Billionaire's Shortbread (fudge pieces, blanched almonds, milk chocolate drops and cranberries)
Really liked everything in this, even the almonds and cranberries! The almonds taste really nice with the chocolate! 9/10

Strawberry Milkshake (white chocolate buttons, strawberries and banana coins)
Obviously loved the chocolate (as most of us would!), didn't really like the strawberries and the banana coins were ok but a bit too chewy! 6/10

Orange & Ginger Flapjack
Really nice, Didn't think I'd like the ginger taste but it was yummy! 9/10

Overall another great box! I've now cancelled my subscription because I wouldn't really be willing to pay £3.49 every week or something but I definitely would consider ordering a one-off box every now and then!

Collective Haul for December!

Thought I'd show you a few things I've purchased/received over this month, haven't really got loads recently so thought I'd show you the whole month between November and December.

Benefit Powda Wowza - Debenhams - £17.55 (10% off - RRP: £19.50)
I don't own any Benefit productas besides a 'realness of concealness' set I got for christmas when I was like 13! I know some people might think that's mad but Benefit's never really appealed to me with the insane prices! But I wanted to try their blushes and just couldn't bring myself to spend £23.50 on one blush, but I saw they did this set of 3 for £19.50, It's a very tiny box and the blushes are small but most blushes last forever anyway and it's a great way to try new blushes aswell! I absolutely love the smell of these, it's just gorgeous! I thought I'd really like Coralista (peachy toned one) but it doesn't show up all that well on my skin, Bella Bamba (pink toned one) is really pretty and the pigmentation is wonderful on my skin, not patchy like a lot of blushers I've used before and Hoola is the bronzer in this set and it's a lovely bronzer, I used it properly the other day and I really like it but it is quite a 'muddy' bronzer, so you have to be careful with it! The brush is pretty useless to me because I like full angled contour brushes to do my blush/bronzer, but meh, this will come in handy for travelling etc. This product has sold out in a lot of places online including Debenhams so I think it's quite popular!

Burt's Bees Lip Balm Set - Gift from America from a relative! - $9.99?
My nan actually bought this back from a trip to America for me, Thought I'd post it as it's a lovely little Lip Balm set, I've never tried anything from Burt's Bees before but my lips are in need of serious lip therapy this month as they are sooo dry! I love the little box that it comes in, really handy for storage for jewellery etc.! I think this was around the $10 mark so that's around £5 I think? Quite a bargain!

Mini Gold Crosses/Silver Peace Sign Earring Set - ASOS - £4.20 (30% off Grazia Code - RRP: £6.00)
Mainly wanted these for the mini crosses because I've mentioned in a previous post how I wanted some mini cross earrings like I saw in a Made In Chelsea episode on Caggie Dunlop, They do some in Urban Outfitters for £8 whereas with these they're cheaper PLUS you get another pair of earrings too so much more of a bargain! and free delivery!

Black Sparrow Wired Headband - Matalan - £4 (Gift for Xmas!)
This was the first of some gifts that one of my friends gave me for Christmas! I love these wired headbands, This one in particular has really nice kind of see through chiffony material which I think looks nicer than the normal cotton ones I have! Thank you to my friend Sophie :)

Peace Sign Studs - Matalan - £3.50 (Gift for Xmas!)
The second of my gifts from my friend Sophie, These are so pretty and the perfect size for me because I hate tiny studs and these definitely aren't tiny!

Silver Disc Short Length Necklace - Matalan - £5 (Gift for Xmas!)
The last of my Christmas gifts from Sophie, This has to be one of the best gifts ever, I absolutely love this and can't stop wearing it ! She knows me well :) Sooo pretty and looks nice with high neck jumpers/tops :)

Evil Eye Ring/Bracelet Chain - eBay -  £3.18 (free p&p)
Purchased this from a seller in Hong Kong on eBay after seeing Chelsea post a blog about this, I originally bought the infamous Topshop Evil Eye ring which I had to return after wearing it ONCE because it went a horrible coppery colour and made my finger go green, really bad quality! It took about 2/3 weeks to get here which isn't bad considering it's coming from China! The bracelet did have these little jingly bells on it but it was doing my head in so I took them off haha! Thanks to Chelsea for finding this, apparently she spent ages browsing on eBay before she came across it!

Boucle Slubby Sweat - Topshop - £28
My favourite purchase of the month! I really wanted a lovely jumper to wear Christmas Day, and I bought one from Topshop that I loveeeed but it stretched and got really baggy on the shoulders after wearing it once, so I had to return it! I then got a different jumper from Topshop which arrived and looked too baggy that it was just unflattering on me, and I'd been eyeing up this specific jumper for ages but it was always sold out online in my size and they didn't sell it in any stores close to me, then they finally had 1 in stock in my size online and I grabbed it! So glad I did as it arrived today (just in time for Christmas!) and It's gorgeous, so snuggly and warm!!!

Silver Hoops with Dangly Crosses - eBay - £2.30 (+ £2.55 p&p) (converted from $'s)
Got these from an american seller on eBay, I really wanted some hoops with dangly crosses on them and they had some from Urban Outfitters for £12 but I wasn't going to spend that much on some earrings so I browsed eBay and found these instead! They are quite tiny and only 1.5inch across but so pretty and really nice quality actually!

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Graze Box #3

My 3rd Graze Box Post! Thought I'd make this short and sweet,

In this box I received:

Honeycomb Crunch (milk chocolate honeycomb pieces, sultanas and almonds)
Really yummy the honeycomb pieces were lovely with the sultanas and almonds! Not much to say about it besides that! 10/10

Scrumptious Blueberry Swirl (blueberry yoghurt raisins, raspberry infused cranberries & blackcurrants)
I think my favourite was the raspberry infused cranberries, I don't particularly like blackcurrants that much but they were okay, and the blueberry yoghurt raisins were nice but really overwhelmingly creamy! 7/10

Wasapeas (wasabi covered dried peas)
These were quite nice but it was really strong wasabi and made my eyes water! Felt weird eating hard peas haha! 6/10

Smoky Red Pepper Gazpacho Dip (wholemeal crisp bread slices and smoky pepper relish)
Really liked the bread slices, The smoky pepper relish was nice but 'smoky pepper' is a bit of a weird taste! 8/10

Overall a nice 3rd box!

FeelUnique December '11 Box

Bed Head Sugar Dust, Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Toilette, Clarisonic Refining Skin Cleanser, Nails Inc Mini in Oxford Street, Figs and Rouge Sweet Geranium Balm and Living Nature Samples

As you might of noticed in my last Beauty Box post I was pretty disappointed with Glossybox! I decided to cancel their box and after reading a few reviews decided to choose FeelUnique instead. I really like this box and was happy to see 3 brands I've already heard of (Bed Head, Nails Inc. & Clarisonic).

The item I was most excited to try was the Bed Head Sugar Dust, I've been wanting a volumizing hair powder for a while now (as I've been stealing my Mum's Schwarzkopf  Powder'ful for a while now!), I've used this a few times and I like it! I think it definitely works, it doesn't last that long but then neither does any other volumizing product I use on my hair >-> It's pretty invisible and the texture generally feels 'matte' on your hands, I normally have to wipe off the excess with a face wipe 'cause it just makes your hands feel funny!
It's great to see a Nails Inc. nail polish in this box even though it's a mini! It's a really nice cool toned baby pink, I still have a Leighton Denny baby pink polish from a previous GlossyBox, but that one was warmer toned than this one!

The Clarisonic Cleanser I have yet to try out but I know it's a very popular brand at the moment, This cleanser claims to exfoliate, firm and smooth areas of the body needing extra care, So it seems a great thing for the winter months. I'm happy to see that it's got Green tea in it, which is an anti-oxidant and is anti-inflammatory, which will help me at the moment because my skin is terrible! :(

I've never heard of Annick Goutal, Figs & Rouge or Living Nature, I have yet to use the Living Nature samples but it's a lovely bonus to add to the box, The Figs & Rouge balm is a good thing to carry in your handbag and comes in handy for this month if the cold weather is making your skin dry! I've found I'm using my MOA green balm from another previous GlossyBox a lot more this month because of dry skin! The Annick Goutal perfume is a pleasant surprise, and one of my favourites in this box, I was glad to see It was a small bottle and not another irritating sample vial that beauty boxes love to throw in, it came in a lovely purple bag and I was surprised that I really liked this perfume, I usually like florally/spring kind of perfumes, and this one is very woodsy and musky but I absolutely love it and it's a great smell for winter and the Christmas season!

The Bed Head Sugar Dust retails for £9.35 (you get a full size product in this box), The full size 10ml Nails Inc. Oxford Street polish is £11 (the mini size is 4ml), The full size 180ml Clarisonic Refining Skin Polish is £21 (you get 60ml in this box), 50ml of the Annick Goutal Eau De Toilette is £43.35 (I'm unsure of what size the bottle in the box is!) and the Figs & Rouge balm is £3.49 (you also get this full size in the box).

If you are interested in signing up for a beauty box, I thoroughly recommend FeelUnique, as the box is also the cheapest on the market at the moment at £9.95 a box!

Graze Box #2

When I opened my 2nd Graze Box, I found it full of lovely Christmas extras! In the box I had 2 gift vouchers for 2 free boxes to give to friends, I gave one to my boyfriend and I've kept the other as a christmas present because it's a proper gift voucher with a envelope that states 'To & From' on it etc.!

Also received a cute 'Build a Snowman' cardboard thing, My boyfriend decided to make it and now it's in my room as a Christmas Decoration!

& Here's the snacks I received in this box!

Bonnie Wee Oatbakes (Cheese & Chive Oatbakes & Red Onion Marmalade)
Really liked this! Was so yummy and there's not much else I can say besides that! 10/10

Lemon Meringue Pie (Mini Meringues, Yoghurt Coated Peanuts & Lemon Infused Sultanas)
I liked this one, The meringue bits being my favourite, It wasn't amazing! Left it on my Try list! 5/10

Apple & Cinnamon Flapjack
I was pleasantly surprised by this, I absolutely hate cinnamon but it wasn't very strong in this flapjack which was great, I put this onto my like list! 9/10

Copacabana (Milk & Dark Chocolate Buttons & Brazil Nuts)
I loved the chocolate (like most people do) but i'm not really a fan of Brazil Nuts but I've never tried them before but i'm glad I did! 5/10

Here's the Snowman all put together!

Overall, A really nice box :)

Stayed tuned for a few more Graze reviews!

Amazon Kindle

Recently purchased myself a little Christmas present the other week! I got myself an Amazon Kindle e-book reader, the wifi version which is only £89, a real bargain! I got it from Argos because I was too impatient to wait for it to be delivered from, and at the time Argos were doing a promotion where if you spent £50 or over you got a free £5 gift card to spend, as long as you use it by the end of January 2012!

It's a really great device, The books to buy from Amazon are cheap and cheerful, normally around the £5 mark, and I know you can also download from other sellers online somehow (not quite sure who else sells them though) and use a piece of e-book management software called Calibre to convert the file to work on the Kindle, it's pretty simple! The Kindle is fabulous to read on also because the screen uses an E Ink display, which is just like reading a real book and it doesn't strain your eyes like reading on something like a tablet computer would do!

The only problem I really have with the Kindle is the Amazon Kindle Store, when you buy books it works on a '1-Click Buy' system, so if you accidently click the 'Buy' button it will automatically take payment out of your linked card with no confirmation, the only thing that does happen is the next screen after purchase that comes up has a link at the bottom that says something along the lines of 'have you made a mistake with this purchase, click here to cancel' and you can click that and it will cancel the order but you will have to wait for a refund which is irritating! All I did to kind of protect from mistakes is put a password on my Kindle so no one can go on it besides myself!

I also got a lovely blue case from eBay which has a special grip handle you can use to hold your Kindle a bit more comfortably which I bidded for and won for £3.70 (inc. P&P), and I got a e-Book reader reading light from Poundland for obviously £1 :P

I can't put it down at the moment, constantly reading!

You can buy the Kindle:

Have you purchased an e-book reader before? Do you prefer it to paper books?

Graze Box #1

A few days ago I got an e-mail from Groupon saying they were giving out free £5 vouchers to use on a Groupon deal (no minimum purchase necessary), and they were doing a deal for which I've seen mentioned around the internet quite a bit, The deal was 4 boxes for £5 (normally around £12), so with my voucher I was able to get this completely free.

I thought I would review these boxes for my readers, just in case anyone has considered Graze before etc.

The general jist of Graze is that they provide a healthier snack box of 4 punnets, You can browse and rate products on the website so you don't actually pick what you get in each individual box but you choose what you want to 'bin' (don't want in any boxes), 'try' (will come every now and then), 'like' (will come more often than others), 'love'  (you'll see these in your box even more frequently). So it's a good idea because you won't get anything you won't like but you will still get a surprise!

You do sign up to a weekly box automatically so I'll probably cancel my weekly box after my 4 boxes have been delivered as I can't really afford to sign up to it at the moment, but the good thing is that you can actually buy one off boxes and get 3 boxes for around £10. You can choose how many days a week you receive a box, for example, I get a box every Thursday and Friday but I can cancel a number of boxes or add more boxes which I'll receive weekly.

You can actually get your first box free and a second one half price if you sign up to the website (here) and use the code 9C26L3V

Here's what I received in my first box:

Fruit Sundae (Strawberries, Pineapple and Cherry Sultanas)
This was pretty average, I rated it on my 'Try' list in the first place but it's texture is sort of dried fruit but then a little bit more moist than that, I'm not a huge fan of dried fruit but I did like the cherry sultanas. I ended up putting this onto my 'Bin' list! I'd probably give this a 1/10.

Rustic Marble Bread (Smoked Paprika, Garlic & Thyme Bread)
I absolutely loved this, I originally had this on my 'Try' list and I didn't think I'd like it that much but it was really good! After having it I automatically put it onto my 'Love' list cause I'd be happy to receive this more often! 10/10
Hot Mango Salsa (Mango Pieces with Sweet Chilli Dip)
I was really excited about this one but the Mango pieces put me off! I just didn't think it went right with the Sweet Chilli dip, tasted too weird! I ended up putting this on my 'Bin' list aswell! The dip was really good but just not with the mango! 1/10
Honeycomb Flapjack (Chocolate & Honeycomb)
I was most excited about this and I was right to be! It's really yummy and I'd love to see this more in my
boxes because I loveeee Honeycomb! 10/10

Bit random, but another thing I liked was that when I took the punnets out of the box I realized there was a napkin provided as well which I thought was a nice touch! Felt really weird because It was recycled and felt stiffer like paper but I thought it was a good idea to add to the box!

I've got 3 more boxes to go yet with the voucher I have so you'll be seeing a few more of these posts!

Have you tried Graze before? Which is your favourite Graze snack?

Christmas Wishlist!

I haven't posted frequently recently because I haven't really had much new stuff or much to talk about and didn't want to abandon my blog for weeks on end so I thought I would do a 'Want' post with a few things I'd love to get this Christmas (or in the January sales!)

Bit of a mix-up of items for this wishlist so it's not all fashion/beauty related for once haha,

A few weeks ago I saw an offer on MagicFreebiesUK to get a 7 Day sample trial of  Lancôme's Teint Miracle foundation so I thought I'd get it, you just had to get the offer sent to your phone and then show the text to a Lancôme counter where you live so I went to my local Debenhams, They didn't have the Teint Miracle foundation in stock for sampling so I was offered to try the Teint Idole Silky Matte foundation based on my skin type (oily/combination), and I've actually fell in love with this foundation, It's sooo expensive at £25 but I put on my usual foundation the other day and it felt way too heavy, My skin has cleared up immensely recently and with the cold weather my skin is drier so my usual foundation feels heavier and cakey, but this foundation is amazing, it feels lighter and natural but it's flawless coverage, definately want to invest in this!

I saw the E.L.F Lipstick in Nostalgic on one of Becca's videos a few weeks ago and I really like the colour, kind of reminds me of Hue by M.A.C but Hue is quite a sheen finish and I think this one is more opaque which is more my style!

I recently bought a Kindle, which I'll probably show you soon, & I've been buying little bits for it, I have the Twilight Saga (cause I'm a massive Twi-freak again ) already and I really wanted a Amazon Gift Card for Xmas so I could buy some more books! I really want The Vampire Diaries in particular, I like the programme but I've heard the book is different which intrigued me (as I was also looking at the Sookie Stackhouse novels (where True Blood came from) and the stories are exactly the same as the episodes and I think that would bore me!), I sampled the first 2 chapters and quite liked the writing style so I'd like to read the other thing :)

I love The Sims 3 a lot! I've been playing The Sims since I was 7 and If you know me well then you'll probably know that's pretty much the only game I play haha, They have a new stuff pack and expansion coming out soon (The expansion was only announced today so I don't know the release date yet) and this stuff pack is coming out in late January and I'll definitely be buying this haha!

I saw these gorgeous mini cross earrings on a YouTube video and I have way too much cross jewellery already but I would like a dainty pair of cross earrings since I saw some really similar ones that Caggie from Made In Chelsea wore in an episode and I fell in love! A little pricey for me at £8 but they are cute :)

 Hope you enjoyed today's post!
