Recent Buys!

Just a few things I've picked up in the last few weeks,

My friend bought me the nail polish as a late christmas present!

Revlon Just Bitten in Twilight

Wet 'N' Wild lipstick in Vamp It Up (919B) (Duplicate for MAC Smoked Purple) - EBay - Around £4
I found this beauty when I was hunting for a duplicate for MAC's Smoked Purple which my friend had and I fell in love with it! I'd seen many people post online saying this specific Wet 'N' Wild lipstick was very similar and I have to agree, it is! The only downside is that it's a teeny bit darker and seems to come off easier than the MAC one, which is annoying because a lipstick that dark ends up leaving a line around your lips and looking like you have some kind of disease! As long as you have the time to keep re-applying I would say get it, or invest in some Lipcote!

Wet 'N' Wild 'Vamp It Up'

Benefit Porefessionally Pretty Set (£21.15 with discount - RRP: £23.50)
I couldn't resist buying this when I saw they were selling the full size Porefessional with a Girl Meets Pearl/Erase Paste mini's for the same price as just the full size Porefessional on it's own! I think the concealer might be a bit too dark for me but I've always wanted to try it to cover dark circles and it seems to blend well! I actually purchased this as a treat to myself as I've been on a healthy eating/exercise regime for the last week and half and I've actually stuck to it for once haha, very proud of myself!

Snake Wrap Ear Cuff - eBay - Around £6
I fell in love with these snake ear cuff's but couldn't justify spending £15 from somewhere like Regal Rose, So I decided to google around and ended up finding this beauty on eBay for just over £6! It's from a Chinese seller and took about 2 weeks to come but was so worth the wait! I love it!

That's all for today! I also finally received my conical studs in the mail to do my Ragged Priest inspired studded denim jacket as I mentioned a few weeks ago, so I will be doing a DIY post soon!

Just a couple things I've picked up this past week from the high street :)

Firstly, I got this chain faux leather cuff from Poundland, which I think is great because you wouldn't expect to find any nice jewellery in there haha!

Secondly, I got these sparkly star shaped USB fairy lights from the technology/electrical section in Poundland to go around my pc monitor to make my room look all cosy at night!

I wasn't planning on getting any body spray because I never really wear it! I normally just use deodorant or perfume, but I was pleasantly surprised by the smell of this spray, it was 2 minis for £1 in Poundland and I thought the size would come in handy as I could pop one in my purse! The scent reminds me of my mum because she has a perfume that's quite similar, she said she thinks the smell is similar to Lola by Marc Jacobs so if you have that perfume, I'd give this a try!

I bought yet another candle from the Clinton Cards sale...I really have to stop now! I love the mini jars though and this was only £4.99 and I think this particular one is quite a new scent so it was nice to see it on sale! It reminds me of water lilies and according to the website apparently smells of water flowers with green notes and a hint of melon and musk! Very nice!

Hope you liked this post!

FeelUnique January '12 Box

This month's Beauty Box seemed to be centered all around 'a fresh start' and a lot of cleansing/detoxing/skin care etc. This wasn't my ideal box because I'm not a huge fan of skincare in Beauty Box's and would rather get make-up or haircare, but it was nice to try some of the things in this box although I have cancelled my subscription to Feel Unique and I am considering as they always seem to have make-up in their boxes!

I have tried the Phyto conditioner, the bottle provided was 20ml and it was okay but for me this only lasted 2 showers before it was all gone! I have a LOT of hair and it's very tangly so I normally need a LOT of conditioner, This stuff was alright but I wouldn't call it an 'express' conditioner, It wasn't very smoothing and I wouldn't pay £10 for a bottle, I'd rather stick with my £2 Dove conditioner!

I was disappointed to see the Dead Sea salt brushing sachets as I already have these from a previous Glossybox which I am yet to use! But I did finally try one out the other day and It was pretty good, It wouldn't be something I'd buy as I probably wouldn't use it in a normal skincare regime as I don't really use scrubs (although I probably should haha), It smelled of citrus which was gorgeous and It made my skin really soft! Not too 'salty' either so It wasn't unbearably rough on my skin.

I haven't tried the Caudalie Body Lotion properly yet, Just tested it on my hand and all I can say is the smell is amaaaazing! I'm yet to try the Green People Gentle cleanse either but I was most excited about this product because it's something I would probably buy. The Lierac wrinkle smoother I gave to my Mum because I don't have any wrinkles yet!

Surprisingly, I've been using the Lierac infra-red lifting cream everyday before I put on my make-up, Kind of to protect my skin a little bit more, make it smoother and firmer, The scent is gorgeous also, and I was pretty impressed that this was a 15ml sample as the 50ml full size product is £56, meaning this sample size is worth about £15ish!

Overall, I don't think there is anything that will never ever get used in this box, which is good, but I would of liked to of seen a make-up product for more variety!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Friday Freebie!

Recently I saw a great promotion for '50 Free Facebook Timeline Business Cards' from advertised on my favourite freebie site 'MagicFreebiesUK'

All it required you to do was have the new Facebook timeline layout and simply go to your 'About' section on your profile, scroll to 'Contact Info' and click the little 'business card' looking icon next to the header, from there it will show you a version of what your personal business card would look like using your Facebook timeline cover photo and you have to click where it says 'Print Cards' and it will forward you to where you simply edit what you want your card to look like/say etc. and you get a free box of 50 cards, free delivery and all!

(This needs to be done a personal Facebook profile, no fan pages!)

I thought this would come in handy for my blog as it's kind of hard to spell my blog link to people all the time!

Here's what my cards ended up like!

On the back you can add your contact information and also a 'quote', I didn't know what to put so I just described myself haha 'blonde hair, red lips'.

Are you going to snap up this freebie too?

D.I.Y Studded Shoulder Denim Look Jacket

I got a bit bored tonight and thought I'd use an old jacket and old studs to make a studded denim jacket that reminded me a bit of one I saw from Ragged Priest:

This was kind of a practice run as I'm planning on getting an oversized denim jacket and cone shaped studs to make a jacket that looks more similar to the Ragged Priest one but my friend liked what I'd ended up with and has decided to buy it from me!

All I used was some pyramid shaped claw studs that you just pop in, because the material isn't actually denim and is quite thin I didn't even have to use anything to punch a hole first in the material, the studs did the job!

I only had 40 studs left from previously studding something else so it's not as 'blingy' as I would of liked to have made it but it still stands out!

This jacket's a UK size 14 and form fitted to that figure so I would recommend this to a smaller size if they wanted the 'Ragged Priest' over sized jacket look.

Have you re-vamped any of your old clothing items recently?

Babyliss Wave Envy Review

I recently purchased the Babyliss Wave Envy styler after seeing a review from Liv on YouTube, I prefer waves to curls and normally use sea salt spray to get the wavy affect but it doesn't hold very well or waves very well, So after seeing what this product could do, I had to have it!

Bonus was that my mum had  bought me a £25 gift card for Amazon for Christmas, Plus I'd been doing some surveys online aswell and had enough points to get  myself a £10 Amazon gift card. At the time, this product was £40 so I only ended up having to spend £5 of my own money, bargain!

The product is pretty much a 3 barrel waver I think, It has 3 settings of heat and the usual on/off button, also the typical swivel cord which is helpful.

The product is generally supposed to be used half way down the head and the top half to be left alone but I used it as far up my head as the huge styler would go, about 1 and half inches away from my roots.

The styler is SO long lasting, The first time I used it I did it about 7/8pm and it was still wavy by 2pm the next day! and normally whenever I use a curl styler no matter what products I use to help hold it I lose my curls after about 2 hours :(

Some people might think it's just a glorified crimper but It doesn't just lay a print on the top of the hair like a crimper does, it definately does wave the hair.

Here is what my hair ended up like the first time I used it

I went for a night out the other day and someone actually came up to me and said I reminded them of Daryl Hannah in Splash! And I've had so many compliments from friends etc., It's brilliant!

You can buy it for £45 (currently, but the price keeps fluctuating!) from Amazon:

January Sales Haul!

I've been going a bit mad in the sales ! Managed to get a few sale items but there's equally enough non sale purchases haha.

L-R: H&M Suede Lace Up Wedges (£19.99), Primark Black Satchel Bag (£3 down from £8), Black Cherry Yankee Candle (£3.99 down from £7.99 in Clinton Cards), Argos Visiq Heat Mat (£3.99)

I spotted the shoes when I was returning a top I'd received for Christmas (I already had it!) and had £15 store credit to use to get an exchange item so I bought these shoes and they ended up only costing me £5! I also had to return a ring I'd received to Primark because It was too big for me, My bag broke when I went out literally the night before so when I saw this in the sale I had to get it! The ring was £2.50 anyway so I only paid 50p!

All I can say about the Yankee Candles featured in this blog is: I went a bit mad! I LOVE the way they smell but I would never pay full price for them! When I heard Clinton Cards had them on sale for half price I bought 3 in one week haha!

The heat mat is a bit of a random purchase but it's a clue towards something I will be reviewing very soon! I got the mat for free because I had a free £5 gift voucher for Argos after buying a Kindle Wifi the other month when they had a special deal on!

Shoes from the side

As some of you may know, Boots currently have a 50% Xmas Gift Sets offer going on at the moment, Me and my sister decided to take advantage! My sister purchased a St Moritz tanning set and I got this Lipsy Smokey Eye & Lip Kit, It's originally £8 and was £4 in Boots! I'm actually really impressed with this, The pigment of the shadows is beautiful as are the lip colours!
