Glossybox March '12 - The Harrods Edition

This month's Glossybox is a special 'Harrods' edition, Glossybox have teamed up with the UK high end department store to give a very luxurious box this time round! The box itself is white with the Harrods logo shown and states 'The Harrods Edition'. When I first received it I was quite gutted because I didn't receive some items that I was hoping for after seeing Glossybox posts from other bloggers (e.g. Burberry lipstick, YSL serum, Ojon products!) But to be honest the brands I received in this box are very very good! Bliss, Lancome, Revive, Versace and Clarins, I've heard of all but one of this brands before (Revive being the one I hadn't heard of!).

The body butter smells amazing, I don't actually own any body butter and even though I don't usually use products like these it's nice to have to encourage me to nourish my skin a lot more haha! I was excited to see a Lancome make-up product and I have owned a juicy tube lip-gloss when I was about 13/14 but I just do not wear lip-gloss I hate the look on me so this will either be swapped with someone or kept for someone's birthday etc.! The smell isn't also my favourite, it smells of toffee/caramel which I don't really like to smell on a make-up product! Stick with fruity smells please! I couldn't believe my eyes when I found out how much the Revive cream is worth, a full size 60ml tub is £235!!! That makes this 7ml sample worth £27.45 on it's own, how mad is that! I'm hoping the price tag means it will work wonders! I will have to wait and see! The Versace perfume is pretty, it actually smells expensive.. It's nice to see a sample perfume in a little bottle rather than a horrible tester tube that you can easily get from any department store yourself for free, I don't wear perfume that often anyway so I doubt I'll use this but the fact that it's in a nice bottle means this could also make up a gift box for someone's birthday, I think my mum would love this perfume but the smell itself is definitely an all rounder, I don't think it's aimed at a specific age group at all! Lastly, the Clarin's body cream, This is a really nice sized 30ml sample, I think I will definitely use this cream as my legs especially need firming & toning! I haven't tried a firming body cream before so it's definitely a first!

Overall, not a bad Glossybox month but I still wish to see more make-up/hair products!

Hope you liked this post,

Clothing/Accessories Blog Sale!

I decided to do a separate clothing/accessories blog sale, for people who are most interested in fashion rather than the beauty side!

If you're looking for a make-up/product blog sale you can find it here

Basically, all you need to know is that obviously besides the asking price for the product there will be a postage and packing fee of £3.00 (each additional item at 40p more) and every product sold will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded delivery, I will retain proof of postage of every item sent and will send to buyer via e-mail if requested! However, I can invoice an alternative reduced p&p charge of £1.90 for 2nd Class standard delivery, but I will not take any responsibility for lost or undelivered items.

I only post to the UK, sorry no exceptions!

Currently I have nothing for sale on here but please feel free to check my eBay from time to time as I usually will put stuff up there first! Just click here :)

So that's my blog sale!

Whatever you'd like to purchase pleaseeee leave a comment below with what you'd like to purchase and your paypal e-mail address so I can send you an invoice!

I will post within 2-3 working days of payment.

Friday Freebie!

A few weeks ago I saw a freebie on MagicFreebiesUK for free rosary beads, I'm not religious and I know some people might disagree with non-religious people wearing religious symbols but I do generally find some religious traditions really interesting and the rosary beads I found particularly intriguing, I'll only wear them for fashion purposes but these free rosary beads actually came with instructions on how to pray and what each specific bead means to pray for, it's actually really fascinating!

Here are the beads I received for free, I got a baby pink colour, I'm unsure whether you can receive these in any other colours but you can find this freebie:

It takes around 10-12 weeks to arrive as they are in popular demand, I think I ordered mine back in early January and received them in mid February? Even though it's a long wait, I think they are a great freebie and it's really nice to wear with a buttoned up shirt!

Hope you liked this post!

Collective Haul for February/March!

Here's a collective haul over February-March, I've been buying quite a bit recently as I just got a new job so I have an income hurray! :P

Satin finish lipstick in Cyber - M.A.C Cosmetics- £13.50
I've wanted a high end dark purple lipstick for ages, I wanted a high end one because the quality is generally better and I loved how this was a satin finish instead of matte as when the lipstick starts to come off after a few hours it doesn't leave your lips dry and weird looking! I still did find that this lipstick on a night out still needed a fair bit of re-application though!

I've been looking for a cheaper powder for a while now, I normally use L'Oreal True Match powder as my day-to-day but it's £8 and even though it does last a fair while I wanted to see if I could find a good enough one even cheaper! This 17 powder was the closest I found colour wise, A lot of powders were either too orange or too white and I saw this one and it's a perfect match! I'm still yet to see whether it's long lasting or not so I will have to wait and see!

I've been wanting to try the Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream for a while now and after I found out that I had gotten my new job I decided to treat myself with this little Benefit mini's skincare set! I've only used the eye cream twice and I swear it's made a difference! The toning lotion is also good to get rid of all the extra dirt that normal cleansing doesn't shift! I haven't used enough of the others yet to make a comment but they all smell aaaaamazing!

I've been lusting over wet look leggings again but nearly all the ones I've tried on have just looked so unflattering on my bigger thighs! These ones are perfect for me! They might still not be to everyone's taste but I love the cotton back as I'm not a huge fan of the backs of my legs so these are ideal for me! I probably wouldn't wear them with a top tucked in but I wanted to show the zip anyway!

Oversized Blouses with Tie up bow - Primark - £12 each
My new favourite blouses at the moment, The bow is detachable so you can just wear them as plain oversized blouses If you like (which is mainly why I got the black one as I wouldn't normally wear the cream tie up with it!) You probably saw the cream one in my last outfit of the day, They are very big so If you buy one I would recommend getting a size smaller than you are!

Oversized White Shirt - White Label @ Republic - £15
I actually only bought this today! Last night I was looking for a plain white oversized top because I don't have one and it's a wardrobe staple in my eyes! I found this through googling and didn't think it would be loose on me and would be clingy and horrible but I decided to find it in store and try it on and it's perfect! The shape is that of a fitted shirt but the arms and stomach area are loose which makes me love it! I also love the little tie up at the belly, I think it's a perfect day-to-night blouse for spring/summer!

Burgundy Suede Skirt - Primark - £4
I purchased this skirt when I bought the Primark blouses and this skirt was also in my last outfit of the day, These skirts were sold out in every size except 18s & 20s which were too big and I wanted it tight fitted but I managed to find a size 12 on it's own and I didn't think it would fit me for a second considering I'm normally a size 16 (and a 14 in these mini skirts) but it's a perfect fit!

Sweetheart Earrings - Me + eBay finds - Around £6/£7
I made these earrings myself after lusting over the Tumblr famous sweetheart earrings, The original cost around £10 including postage and I couldn't justify paying that when they didn't even have the colours I wanted, so I decided to make my own, I purchased 2 sweetheart pendants off an eBay seller for £1.40 each with around £2 postage, and I bought these silver bow earrings for around £2/£3 to connect to the pendants (I would of made the earring/bow part myself but I didn't have a clue on how to put a bow on an earring so I gave up and bought some ready made earrings :P), This is what I ended up with!

Hope you liked this post!

What have you purchased lately?

OOTD: Cream & Suede

I bought some new clothes recently (i'll show them all in a haul soon!) and came up with this outfit! I am absolutely in love with my new blouse to the point I have it in 2 colours! I wear a lot of black usually so for me to wear cream and burgundy is a miracle haha!

Cream Blouse with Black Bow Tie Up - Primark
Burgundy Suede Skirt - Primark
Black Layering Top (Hidden to cinch up the shirt!) - Primark

Close up

Tie up bow

Suede skirt

Shoes

I also did a double winged eye-liner look for a bit of a change, I was watching YouTube videos and was inspired!

Products used:

Urban Decay naked palette (shade buck for lid and shade dark horse for outer v/crease)

I haven't got much to say in this blog post, I haven't been posting that often as I've just started a job and haven't really had much free time but I will try my hardest to keep up with everything! I have a few posts already planned so keep your eyes peeled!

P.S Just in case you're wondering why I didn't show the jewellery I wore as well is because the earrings are something I've recently made and they weren't completed when these pictures were taken, and the only other accessory I wore was my ASOS Silver Cross bangle!

That's all folks!

Happy 1st Birthday Blog!

Bit of a different post but today marks the 1st birthday of my blog! Wooohooo :)

It's weird to think this time a year ago I'd just found out about the beauty/fashion blogging community and was excited to join so I decided to create my own blog :)

A lot has changed in a year, I started taking nicer pics (instead of crappy iPhone pics haha) and my writing style has changed quite a bit!

Hopefully there should be many more blog birthday's to come!
